Between the 1-8 of January I went to volunteer on a project Santa for one day in Slovenia. Santa for a Day is a movement that, with the right mix of creativity and humanity, offers people the opportunity to give. A box packed with creativity, full of love and kindness, it puts a smile on the face of kids and elderly, A small box for a BIG smile! The project was started by Savina Goličnik in 2012. First years presents were made for kids from socially unstable families. In 2016 was the first year that on Santa list there were elderly as well. So I could say I really enjoy this time of year much more for the past years because of participating in this project. This year, there was 13400 presents that needed to be picked up all around Slovenija and brought to warehouse in Ljubljana. Then presents are sorted to where they have to go, then we checked every present if its there, complete and appropriate. That presents a lot of work and it couldn’t be done without all the help from so many determined volunteers and of course all the donators who help with providing vans, warehouse, carts, tools and a lot of diffrent stuff to fill the incomplete and missing presents. Im so happy to be able to be part of this story for another year and spend time with the great people around it. For more information about the project visit https://new.bozicekzaendan.si/
