Medal won at the European Cup for Children!
For the sixth time, our children have had the opportunity to participate in the European Cup for younger age categories up to 13 years – EMRYT. EMRYT was held in Collecchio, Italy. This year we represented our clubs with two teams of girls and boys Princ and Panthers, and coach Kirstin Mapes accompanied us on our trip. For some of our players, this was the first multi-day tournament in a foreign country, so it was a new experience for them. Accomodation in the sports hall with several other foreign teams was a real hit. Every day they socialized with each other and met new friends. The tournament was certainly a challenge for all our players, and especially for our young pitchers. Everyone showed how hard they worked and practiced in preparation for the cup. Many players gained self-confidence, which was shown in the game itself, in hitting and smart running around the bases.
We returned to Croatia with excellent results! The Panthers Špansko team finished in 7th place, which was a good result for such a young team, while the Princ team won 3rd place and returned home with bronze! We believe that everyone will remember moments from Italy. There is certainly room for improvement, but we are convinced that with regular training and additional experience, the result will be better and better in the coming years.
