At the heart of the IMPACT project lies one simple belief: empowered mentors create empowered athletes. To make that vision a reality, Softball Club Princ Zagreb and its partners set out to design a mentoring program that not only supports young players but also invests in the growth of their mentors.
From the start, we wanted a learning solution that would be accessible, engaging, and flexible enough to fit into the busy lives of coaches and mentors. After exploring several options, we chose Udemy, a global online learning platform known for its practical and user-friendly approach to education.
Udemy offered exactly what the IMPACT project needed — a space where mentors could learn at their own pace, revisit materials anytime, and follow a structured program tailored to sports mentorship. Our custom-designed course guides mentors through the essentials of effective mentoring: communication, leadership, goal-setting, and motivation, all framed within the context of youth sports.
The course combines videos, interactive exercises, and self-reflection activities, creating a dynamic and supportive learning experience. Mentors have responded enthusiastically, highlighting how the platform’s flexibility allows them to integrate learning into their everyday routines.
Beyond convenience, the Udemy course has become a key tool for consistency and quality across all participating clubs. It enables project coordinators to track progress, offer feedback, and ensure that every mentor receives the same high-quality preparation.
