Princ Zagreb secures the silver medal at the 2025 Euroleague Finals in Zagreb, closing the season with three national titles and strong performances across Europe.
The 2025 Euroleague season concluded in Zagreb from 3rd to 5th October, and Princ Zagreb once again demonstrated its quality and resilience on the European stage. Despite a challenging start to the season, the team fought its way back to claim the silver medal, finishing second overall.
Strong Response After a Challenging Season
The final stage of the competition began on Friday with decisive games determining the top four placements. This year’s Euroleague had its challenges, particularly following a difficult loss in Brno earlier in the season, when an unfortunate collision between two players impacted the team both physically and mentally.
Despite these setbacks, the team showed remarkable resilience and determination on home ground. Two convincing victories on Friday, both by wide run differences, proved that we were back in form and ready to compete for the top spots.
Close Victory Over Trnava
Saturday brought one of the tournament’s most intense games against Trnava. The opponent managed several perfectly placed hits between the infield and outfield, but with strong pitching and timely offensive plays, we held on to claim a 6–5 victory. The next game, against Apollo, was more comfortable, as the opponent was missing several key players, and the team added another confident win.
Rain Cancellation of the Final Day
The long-awaited matchup against Cats Brno was scheduled for Sunday and was expected to decide the championship. However, continuous heavy rain throughout the night and into the day forced the cancellation of all games. Since the super round had already been completed, Princ Zagreb was officially placed second overall, based on its win-loss record and head-to-head results.
A Season to Celebrate
Considering how the Euroleague season began, the silver medal represents a major success for us. After two consecutive gold medals in previous years and the disappointment of not being able to compete for the title this time, finishing second is an achievement worth celebrating.
Alongside the Euroleague silver, we also claimed three championship titles and participated at the Premier Cup, marking another outstanding and consistent season
