Amid all the Open Cups and the last pre-holiday practices and tournaments, our mentors and their future mentees managed to meet for the very first time.
In the Impact project, funded by the European Union, we are working together with the Croatian team Princ to support young club members who are becoming more involved in the club’s activities. They will go through an educational program on “how to be a mentor” and will immediately apply—and thus deepen—their new knowledge through cooperation with younger club teammates.
We have selected as mentors players and former players who already help as assistants with our youngest teams. The mentees will be players from the Žáci A (U13/U15) team.
The agenda of the June meeting included an introduction to the program, familiarizing both groups with how the mentoring will take place and what roles each participant will have. Most importantly, everyone in the program had a chance to get to know one another. The boys from the Žáci team learned which of their older Joudrs colleagues will be helping them over the next six months with their mental growth and mindset.
We are looking forward to seeing how participation in this project will move us forward, to gaining new experiences and insights, and we are glad to have found a way to support our active, motivated teens in their efforts to contribute to the club where they spend their free time.
