From 2 to 4 September 2026, young baseball players and coaches from BEST partner organisations will meet in Zagreb, Croatia, for the three-day BEST Summer baseball camp, organised within the Erasmus+ Sport project BEST – Beyond the Sport.
The camp will bring together young athletes from different clubs and countries for three days of baseball, learning, international cooperation and new experiences. The programme combines practical baseball training with international games and activities focusing on different aspects of athlete development.
During the camp, players will take part in batting and defensive training, international games, video analysis, mental preparation and the BEST Baseball Skills Challenge. Working with coaches and players from different environments will give participants an opportunity to exchange experiences, develop their baseball skills and build new connections beyond their own clubs.
An important part of the programme will also be a social inclusion and diversity workshop. The workshop will encourage young athletes to think beyond sporting performance and explore values such as respect, inclusion, teamwork, acceptance of differences and belonging within a team.
By combining baseball training with mental preparation, digital learning and social inclusion, the Summer baseball camp brings together several important elements developed through the BEST project. The aim is not only to help young athletes improve as baseball players, but also to create an environment in which sport becomes a place for cooperation, personal development and connection between young people from different countries.
The camp will conclude with the BEST Baseball skills challenge, joint reflection and the presentation of certificates of participation to athletes and coaches.
The BEST Summer baseball camp represents another opportunity for the project partners to strengthen international cooperation and create meaningful sporting and educational experiences for young athletes.
