It is unbelievable how time flies. It has been already eleven months since I came to Zagreb. Only one month left and I will have to say goodbye to this beautiful city and amazing people. I am happy that despite pandemic situation I was able to spend my summertime with activity I love most in the world – softball.
End of the year in Softball club Princ belongs to summer softball camp. Theme of annual kid’s camp in 2021 was Olympic games, Olympic spirit. This was tenth kids camp in Princ history! From 19.06. to 25.06.2021 more than thirty kids enjoyed our summer softball camp. You can read more about camp in this article. Unfortunately, I had to leave camp a bit earlier to join Slovak National Team and leave with them to Women´s European Championship held in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. Slovak and Croatian national teams had even a chance to play against each other, what was special for me to play against my good friends. It was a close game, but Croatia managed to beat us 2:1. (again, haha – 2019 Croatia beat us 5:0). Overall, our team finished 13th out of 17 teams, and we were very disappointed because we knew we can do better. Few days after European Championship I went with my friends from Slovakia to island Cres. We discovered few cool beaches and enjoyed our time together. I came back to Zagreb 11th of July to join the preparation of Croatian Junior National team for European Championship. I was able to join only end of the preparation because of my illness. I was honored to be a part of staff for Croatian Junior National team. We went to Championship on 19th of July and came back 24th of July. It was my first time at European Championship in different position than player. This was an interesting experience, and I am glad I was part of the team. About Princ players performance, you can read in this article. In the end of the july Patrik and I visited Slovenia. I had a chance to see part of Slovenian beauty. We went to Bled, Ljubljana, and Kropa.
In august our women´s team went to European Cup to Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. We were so excited to compare with other European teams. We had balanced team composed of young and experienced players. After summer break leagues continued in Croatia. Our Princ Plavi managed to beat Medvednica in best – of – five series and we became Croatian Champion! Besides that, we won final game of Croatian Cup! Also our Youth category managed to win Croatian Championship! End of the season traditionally belongs to Ball game tournament, and after two year pause we were happy to organise 10th Ball game in club history! More about tournament here.😊
